TOTAL FAMILY ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM

Goals
The Total Family Achievement Program is a program that helps people help themselves. The program is dedicated to helping families work together in order to achieve self-sufficiency.

Through TFAP, Gaston Community Action provides all the services necessary to help a family assess its strengths and work as a team to achieve economic stability in order to take charge of their lives.

We work with the heads of households so that they can market themselves more effectively in order to find better jobs, help them to budget their money and even assist them in finding a better place to live.  We also work with the children so they understand that the road to a better life includes family cooperation.

Criteria for eligibility

In order to be considered for the Total Family Achievement Program, applicants must be:

• Residents of Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, or Stanly County
• Economically disadvantaged according to federal income guidelines
• Willing to sign an agreement which states that the entire family will work to move out of poverty and into independence
